In this talk, cognitive neuropsychologist Dr Debora Elijah discussed how to recognize ADD/ADHD symptoms in children, what we can do in the classroom versus the playground and offered strategies to deal with the children’s emotions, academic performance and social skills.

Presented at JW3 in North West London to an audience of parents and leading professionals on 'Autism and Bullying'. This talk covered the effects that bullying has on children with autism and their families and how to cope with and prevent bullying, particularly in schools.

Presented at the Portland Hospital to a group of leading paediatricians and neuro-paediatricians about the Elijah Early Intervention Centre and her PROSCIG methodology: an intervention programme in social cognitive inter pairs dealing with three key areas of social perception, self regulation and social problem solviing.

At Fernando Pessoa University, in O`Porto, Portuga:
Gave a lecture and presentation to Research Days at UFP. The Days of Research on UFP is a scientific event organized by GADI that aims to stimulate and disseminate scientific production, held at the University Fernando Pessoa. The event provides an opportunity to share best practices in interdisciplinary research and promote effective cooperation. Dr. Debora Elijah`s presentation was entitled Cognitive Plasticity of Mental Schemas: Effects of a Socio-Cognitive Intervention in Groups of Pairs in School Social Networks.

At Fernando Pessoa University, in O’ Porto, Portugal:
Gave a lecture and presentation to the 10th National Congress of Health Psychology, carried out by the Portuguese Society of Psychology of Health and with the support of the Portuguese Psychologist and the Foundation for Science and Techonology (FST), with the themeCooperation Skills in Group of Children with ADHD.
This lecture covered 10 major topics: 1) Attention on Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); 2) Children with ADHD; 3)Intervention for children with ADHD; 4) Intervention for promoting the development of social skills in children with ADHD by Elijah Cognitive Therapy Skills Centre; 5) Importance of interaction; 6) Intervention groups with children; 7) PROSCIG; 8) Structure of PROSCIG sessions; 9) Topics of PROSCIG sessions and 10) PROSCIG: New Mental Representations and New Scripts.
 
The aim of Dr Elijah's lecture was to help parents, teachers and other professionals in the field of education to have a better understanding of children with ADHD, social, emotional and communication difficulties. Her main aim was to demonstrate that interaction and the cooperation in the peer group has a positive influence on changing behaviours of children with ADHD.  
 
 
February 2014 
At Fernando Pessoa University, in O’ Porto, Portugal:
Gave a lecture and presentation to the 10th National Congress of Health Psychology entitled Early Intervention Programme.
This lecture covered the following themes: 1) Why do we focus on these issues?; 2) The Early Signs; 3) Elijah`s Intervention Programme and 4) Programme Aims.
Dr. Elijah gave an interactive lecture order to help parents, teachers and other professionals to understand that Early Intervention is essential for social and cognitive development of children. She presented an innovative programme that aims at cultivating confidence and self-awareness, promote independent thinking and behaviors, facilitate socialisation and communication skills, promote interaction and cooperation in an age appropriate ways.

At Fernando Pessoa University, in O’ Porto, Portugal:
Dr. Elijah was the chairperson of the panel, at the 10th National Congress of Health Psychology, carried out by the Portuguese Society of Psychology of Health and with the support of the Portuguese Psychologist and the Foundation for Science and Techonology (FST), with the theme From the Pregnancy to Parenting.
 
 
On 26 February at Fernando Pessoa University, in O’ Porto, Portugal:
Presented her research Cognitive Plasticity of Mental Schemas: Effects of a Social-Cognitive Intervention In Groups of Pairs In School Social Net Works (PROSCIG) at a conference held in Watford, United Kingdom. This research was given the highest distinction for its impact on research into psychosocial interaction and cooperation. The Scientific Committee was presided by his Excellency Dean Dr. Salvato Trigo, Professor Andy Tolmie, Dean of the Doctoral School of Education University of London,  Professor Pedro Cunha and by Professor Madeira.
 
 
April 2012 at The 4th Research Souk EMUNI - Republic of Kosovo:
Gave a presentation to the 4th EMUNI Research Souk 2012. The topic was Social Adjustment in the context of Social Competence in Urban Groups.

Dr Elijah was the main speaker on Research into Human Cognition and  Effects of Socio Cognitive Intervention Programme in Friendship Groups - English Pupils in Transition from Primary to Secondary School.

Gave a presentation at the EMUNI Research Souk in Alexandria, Egypt. entitled Sociopsychometric measures: Social Skills and Social Competence in English Pupils in transition to Secondary School.
 
 
May  2009, meeting with Tony Attwood:
Dr Elijah met in London with Dr. Tony Attwood, Professor at Brisbane University, Australia. Tony Attwood is a practising Clinical Psychologist who specialises in the field of Aspergers Syndrome. For the last twenty-five years he has met and worked with hundreds of people with Aspergers, ranging widely in age, ability and background. He has an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Hull, Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Surrey and a PhD from the University of London. Debora Elijah discussed her research about how to improve and promote inclusion with Asperger’s children for 10- 11 years old in social adjustment and social competence in groups in mainstream schools.
 
 
May 2008 at Fernando Pessoa University, in O’ Porto, Portugal:
Invited by Professor Milton Madeira to give a lecture on Cognitive Psychology entitled Neurocognitive Intervention Program Group on Social Skills and Communication. She also gave a lecture on Discipline Integrated Psychological Clinic II to psychology students entitled Cognitive Psychopathology: Asperger's  Syndrome.
